1. Well-being or Mental Health Workshop

(I) In-house Workshop
Each organisation can apply for ONE free workshop in 2024-2025. No. of participants: 25-50
(A) Mental Health Workshop (1 hour)
 Instructors will explain the sources, symptoms and influence of stress and provide tips to maintain balanced work-life.
(B) Zentangle Mindful Art Workshop (1 hour)
 Instructors will teach Zentangle art and its techniques. Having a chance to draw, participants could alleviate stress.
(C)  Dog's Your Friend Workshop (1 hour) NEW!
 Instructors will introduce Animal Therapy, participants could interact with Dr. Dog to reduce stress.
(D) Healthy Eating Workshop (1 hour)
 Nutritionists will share information on healthy eating, including tips for healthy daily lunches.
(E) Healthy Cooking Workshop (1 hour) NEW!
 Nutritionists will share recipes of healthy dishes, participants could cook by themselves.
(F) Chinese Medicine Dietetic Strategies Workshop (1 hour)
 Chinese medicine practitioners will brief participants the dietetic theories, including seasonal health preservation and ways of conditioning during recovery in common diseases.
(G) Chronic Pain Relief at Workplace Workshop (1 hour) NEW!
 Physiotherapists explain common chronic pain symptoms and teach participants how to relieve.
(H) Let's Chill Yoga Experiential Workshop (1 hour) NEW!
 Instructors lead participants to relax through yoga.
(I) Wu Shu Workshop (1 hour) NEW!
 Instructors will guide participants in Tai Chi or Ba Duan Jin practice.


Remarks:  1. Places for free workshops are limited. If enrolment exceeds the quota, workshops would be allocated by ballot.
2. Participating organisations should provide the venue for the workshop, along with a computer and visual and audio equipment.
3. The Occupational Safety and Health Council will schedule the workshop on the date specific by the participating organisations as far as possible, subject to availability of the required manpower.
4. Workshops can be arranged between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Friday, except on public holidays.
5. Participating organisations are required to inform the Occupational Safety and Health Council at least 14 working days before the workshop if they would like to reschedule. Each participating organisation could only reschedule once. Organisations are required to bear the full cost of the workshop if the cancel the workshop in short notice without notifying the OSHC.
6. If free workshops are full, organisations can apply for running in-house workshops at their own cost.

(II) Seminars or Online Seminars
Seminars will be held regularly. Topics focus on healthy eating, physical activity and Mental Health.

2. Tailor-made Advice for Enterprise
Professionals from relevant fields would provide tailor-made advisory service to organizations so as to assist employers and employees to sustain the promotion of healthy eating, physical activity and Mental Health in-house.

Organisation can apply for ONE type of tailor-made advisory service for free in 2024-2025
A. Mental Health Advisory Service
  • • Professional consultants from The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong will distribute e-questionnaires for analysis the overall Mental Health status of employees.
  • • Professional consultants will meet with the management to understand the participating organisation’s current measures and difficulties in promoting Mental Health. The consultants will then compile a report, providing customised suggestions and directions for the participating organisation’s future development.
  • • Subject to the need of the participating organisation, the consultant may provide follow-up service half a year later, to examine the participating organisation’s achievements and progress in promoting Mental Health.
B. Healthy Eating Advisory Service
  • • Experts from the Hong Kong Dietitians Association will meet with the management to understand the participating organisation’s initiatives and activities in promoting healthy diet. They will also visit the workplace to make an assessment on facilities such as pantry, canteen and vending machine(s).
  • • The experts would compile a written report, examining the company’s performance in promoting healthy diet, making improvement suggestion. A half-year on-phone follow-up could also be provided.
C. Physical Activity Advisory Service
  • • Experts from the Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China will evaluate the participating organisation’s performance in promoting physical activity from various aspects, including ‘Environment and Facilities’, ‘Company’s Policies’ and ‘Employee’s Behavioral Pattern’ through multiple approaches such as interview with management staff, questionnaire and site visit.
  • • The experts will compile a report that analyses the strengths and weaknesses of the participating organisation’s policies in promoting physical activity, and suggests improvement measures. A half-year on-phone follow-up service could also be provided.

Remarks:  1. Advisory service meeting would last for about 3 hours.
2. Places for free advisory service are limited. If the number of application exceeds the quota, places will be decided by ballot.
3. Chartered organisations, which would like to receive more than one type of advisory service, can arrange the advisory services through the Occupational Safety and Health Council at their own expense. Please email: enquiry@joyfulhealthyworkplace.hk
4. Participating organisations are required to inform the Occupational Safety and Health Council at least14 working days before the advisory session if they would like to reschedule. Otherwise, participating organisations are required to bear the full cost of the advisory session.
5. After receiving advisory service, participating organisations are required to fulfill the requirements below:
  •     • Submit enhancement proposal; and
  •     • Participate in Joyful@Healthy Workplace Best Practices Award
6. Priority of healthy eating advisory service would be given to organisation with canteen or provide free food to staff.

3. Mental Health First Aid Training Course
This course introduces the symptoms of common mental illness and mental health issues, so as to help participants identify mental problems at an early stage, and equip them with the skills to help someone in need to relieve their mood and prevent aggravation of mental problems. This course will be mainly conducted through lectures, supplemented with video, practical exercises and a test.

Remarks:  1. Each chartered organisation is given 3 places for the course from 2024 to 2025. Course participants must be current employees of the participating organisation.
2. The course is 12 hours in total. To receive a certificate certified by MHFA international, participants are required to achieve full attendance and pass the test.
3. Participants are required to pay a deposit of $700 before the course begins. The deposit will be returned to participants after they receive a certificate.
4. If the number of application exceeds the quota, places will be allocated by ballot.
5. After the free quota is exhausted, organisations can still apply for the course at their own cost. For enquiries, please email: enquiry@joyfulhealthyworkplace.hk

4. Health Check-up Kit
(I) Health Check-up Kit on Loan
Participating organisations are welcome to borrow the Health Check-up Kit. The kit includes: Health check devices on hand grip, lower back flexibility, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI).

Remarks:  1. Each organisation can borrow the Health Check-up Kit for a maximum of one week. The kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
2. Organisations are responsible for transportation of the equipment.

(II) Health Check-up Kit Funding Scheme (Priority would be given to SMEs)
This Scheme provides one set of health check devices on blood pressure and waist measurement for chartered organisations. By placing the free-of-charge devices in the workplace, employees are encouraged to use them and keep track of personal health.
